RICK REYES- Club Director/ Head Coach- Pine Crest JV &
Middle School

Developed, implemented, and directed the Club Florida
girls’ volleyball program in 2003. Rick is USAV CAP 1
Certified and has been trained in Gold Medal
Squared. He received his Masters in Sports
Administration at St. Mary’s College of California and
his Bachelors of Science in Sports & Recreation
Administration at Fresno State University…His coaching

JODY BROWN- CFV Technical Trainer- Women’s Head Coach,
Florida Atlantic University
Florida Atlantic University head coach Jody Brown
embarked on a new journey in 2006 as he guided the Owls
into the Sun Belt Conference. He will look to build on
the team's accomplishments as he enters his third season
in the Sun Belt and his 14th season at the helm of the
Owls.
Brown brings an impressive list of coaching credentials
to the program. He served as the Graceland women's
volleyball assistant coach from 1986 to 1991 and the
men's assistant from 1988 to 1991. In 1988-89, Brown
coached the Graceland University JV men's club team in
the off-season to the Collegiate Club Division II title.
He is also a Level I and Level II United States
Volleyball Association certified coach and was employed
as assistant director of the USVBA camps for two years,
after serving as a master coach for seven years.
Brown has been married to his wife, Michelle, for 13
years. Dr. Michelle Brown is the director of the Center
for Academic Excellence within the athletic department
at FAU. The couple has a son, Kaja.

CARLA NICHOLSON- CFV 17 Mizuno- Women’s Head Coach,
Northwood University
A veteran of the South Florida volleyball circuit, is in
her fourth season at the helm of the Seahawks women's
volleyball program. Nicholson joined the Seahawks
program from Sheridan Hills Christian School in
Hollywood, Fla., where she served as the head coach of
the varsity and junior varsity programs for three
seasons. Under her guidance, the Sharks' varsity girl's
squad posted three district runner-up finishes. A
graduate of Westminster Academy, Nicholson was a
four-year starter at middle blocker at Wingate
University where she helped lead head coach James
Mumford's Bulldogs to a conference championship in 1995.
Nicholson started her coaching career in 1997 when she
returned to Westminster to serve as the head coach of
the Lions' middle school team and assistant coach of the
varsity squad. In 1999, Nicholson left Westminster to
serve as the head coach of the junior high squad at Pine
Crest. She returned to Westminster in 2000 and became
head coach of the school's junior varsity team. She also
continued to serve as the assistant varsity coach under
Tammy Campbell. While at Westminster, the Lions made
three straight trips to the state final four in 1999,
2000, 2001, and posted back-to-back runner-up finishes
in 1999 and 2000.
ALBERT STURGEON-CFV 16 Mizuno- Women’s Head Coach, Saint
Thomas University (former)
Albert is the former coach at St. Thomas University for
the past 3 years. He assisted at STU for 3 years prior
to becoming the head women’s coach under Hector
Martinez. He was also the Head Coach for the 16 Elite
team at Miami VBC for the past (5) years.
MARCI BARBOZA- CFV 15 Mizuno- VARSITY Head Coach, CSCA.
“2007 Broward Co- Coach of the Year”.

She is a former Palm Beach Atlantic 96-98 standout as an
Outside Hitter. During her collegiate career, she earned
All-Conference and Academic All-American honors. She was
PBA’s MVP in 1998. Her coaching experience
includes Palm Beach Juniors 15’s and 17’s and Club
Bradford 16’s.
She was the Varsity
Head Coach for Hollywood Christian from 2000-2004. She
is currently the Varsity Head Coach for Coral Springs
Christian Academy. Marci has been at CSCA since 2005.
She continues to play Beach Volleyball at a very high
level.
DEAN BARBOZA- CFV 15 Mizuno-
VARSITY Co- Head Coach, Coral Springs Christian Academy.
Dean has extensive beach and indoor volleyball
experience as a player. Coaching experience includes:
Head Coach for Palm Beach Juniors 15’s and 17’s. Head
Coach Club Bradford 16’s. Assisted Varsity Coach Marci
Barboza at Hollywood Christian from 2000-2004.
He is also currently is
working with the JV and Varsity Girls volleyball
programs at Coral Springs Christian Academy.
LORI BENJAMIN- CFV 14 Mizuno- VARSITY Head Coach,
Stoneman Douglas HS (former)
“2003 and 2005 Broward Coach of the Year”.
Lori went to the State Finals in 2003 and 2005 after
placing 2nd against powerhouse Winter Springs
HS. She is well respected amongst the elite coaches in
the state. She brings a wealth of experience. She played
for Jody Brown at FAU.
DENISE SILVESTER- CFV Technical Trainer- VARSITY Head
Coach, Pine Crest HS.
“Sun Sentinel Broward Coach of the Year”

Her accomplishments are many. They include successful
seasons at George Williams College in NY; 18 years at
UM- St. Louis, where she achieved her 400th
collegiate match win. She’s been recognized by the
NCAA, as one of the top coaches in Div. 2 History.
She’s coached the Elite St. Louis HP VBC. Her Pine Crest
HS team qualified for the 2005 State Championships and
she has coached the 2006 & 2007 Team Florida High
Performance.
LUIS PICO- CFV 13 Mizuno- VARSITY Head Coach, South
Plantation HS.

His 1st year at S. Plantation HS has been a memorable
one for the program. For the 1st time in
their school history they were able to reach REGIONALS.
This was a goal he set with only (2) returning starters.
His previous coaching experience includes: (3) years
Head Coach, Girls & Boys Varsity at Bishop Moore HS
in Orlando; Head Coach, Central Florida
Volleyball Club; Head Coach, Jacksonville Juniors
VBC; Head Coach, Borinquen VBC, Puerto Rico.
RODRIGO CANAVAL- CFV 14 Mizuno – Asst. Coach
Former Coach “Colombian National & Jr. Brazilian
National Teams”.

Rodrigo’s accomplishments are many. He coached the
Colombian Junior and Men’s National Teams from 1993-
2001. He coached the Brazilian Junior National Team
from 2001- 2003. He assisted Coach Louise Crocco at
Cardinal Gibbons High School for 3 seasons from
2003-2005. He is currently employed by the City of Fort
Lauderdale as a Recreation Programmer. He assists with
technical training for all teams at Club Florida
Volleyball, Inc.
LEN VISSER- CFV 15 Travel- VARSITY Head Coach, Boca
Christian HS.

Len was named “Coach of the Year” for 1A-3A
schools by the Palm Beach Post and Boca News in 2005/06
Volleyball Season. His team qualified for states in the
2006 season where they placed in the top 4. Len played
College volleyball for Concordia College in Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada. He coached Volleyball in Canada for (9)
years and club volleyball for (3) years. He has been the
Varsity Volleyball at Boca Christian for 5 years.
Coached one year of Club Volleyball for Yahweh.

my knowledge from competing and coaching in college to
help train and prepare young student-athletes for
Division I competition, both on and off the
court/playing field

EVANYO- CFV 14 Travel
Currently a student at Florida Atlantic University and a
member of the volleyball team under Coach Jody Brown. In
2002-2003 played under Scott Peluso on the 14-1 team at
ASO, 2003-2004 played under Rob Reynard as the captain
of the Colorado Performance 15-1 team, 2004-2006 played
under Sherri Hawkins at Colorado Juniors on the 16-1 and
17-1 team earning 9th at Junior Olympics in
the Open Division 16’s year and 11th at
Junior Olympics in the Open Division 17’s year.
2006-2007 played under Tom Paszko at Juggernaut on the
18-1 team. Have coached teams with girls ages 10 to 13
for two years, and have also coached girls during
multiple volleyball camps at Juggernaut and Florida

Four
years at Normal Community High School. She went to State
my Sophomore and Junior years. She played 4 Years at
Illini Elite Volleyball Club: Setter
Got
picked up to play for Sports Performance 16-elite team
during for Nationals: Placed 3rd in USAV nationals open
division. 17 Cardinal team placed 3rd at AAU's- chosen
for All-American team. 17 Cardinal team place 5th at
USAV nationals- chosen for all-tournament team. 18
Cardinal team placed 15th at USAV nationals. Played for
Auburn University freshman year. Player at Florida
Atlantic University.
KRISTYNA MURANOVA- CFV 13 Travel
Coached for Sports Performance All-Skills, Setting, and
Attacking Camps Summer of 2007 and 2008.
Currently playing for Florida Atlantic University as
outside hitter. Before she came to Florida in August
2008, she played volleyball in the Czech Republic since
1999. Untill 2006 she played Czech Juniors Extra-league
as outside hitter and then in Czech's 1st League as
middle blocker. There she helped coach universal sport
camps.
Personal: Media and Cultural Studies major. Daughter of
Lena Dzmuranova and Robert Dzmuran. Born in September
23, 1986 in Prague. Hobbies include cycling, skiing and
traveling. Player at Florida Atlantic University.

county teams in Maryland
COLLEEN SHERK-
CFV 18 Mizuno. Asst. Coach
After playing volleyball for 3 years on Varisty at
Concord High School in Wilmington, Delaware, Colleen’s
volleyball world really began when she received a
partial scholarship to play middle for Clarion
University’s Division 2 College. Clarion was part of the
western Pennsylvania's PSAC conference. In her four
years, she received honorable mention All-American, 1st
and 2nd teams all PSAC and 1st and
2nd teams all Region. She ranked in the top
10 for hitting percentage and blocking. During college
she provided the community with several team and
individual coaching clinics giving her the experience
for coaching girls of all ages. After college, she moved
to Florida and began playing beach volleyball where she
managed to land a job as the assistant coach for the
boys Varsity volleyball team at Wellington H.S. She
helped bring the Varsity team to winning districts,
Regionals and then getting to the first round of the
state finals two years in a row. She was also the head
coach of the JV Wellington girl’s team in 2006 and
Assistant for the girl’s varsity team in 2007. In the
summer of 2006, she assisted coaching junior beach
volleyball teams for Sunset Juniors beach volleyball
club. She is planning to assist the boys Varsity team at
Atlantic H.S this spring and she will continue to play
in beach volleyball tournaments at the AAA/Open level
throughout the summer.
EDWARD WINSLOW, MS, CSCS, USAW -
(Director of Sports Performance)

Edward A. Winslow is the Founder of My Speed Trainer
(MST). Edward formed MST with some of the top speed,
strength and conditioning trainers in South Florida. At
MST, the focus is on coaching to develop the skills of
speed, acceleration, deceleration, explosive power,
strength and sports specific movements to increase
athleticism for competition.
Edward has excelled in the speed, strength and
conditioning field for nearly a decade. During that time
he has used his education and experience helping
professional, collegiate, amateur and high school
athletes excel in their sport.
He received his B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Hofstra
University, Long Island, NY, and completed his Masters
in Science with a degree in Performance Enhancement and
Injury Prevention from the California University of
Pennsylvania.
